Raw Rocks is a three parts suite for solo piano composed for Raplh van Raat:
Krokeatis Lithos (volcanic rock), Blueschist (metamorphic rock), and Sandstones (sedimentary rock).
The process of construction and deconstruction of the three specific rocks is translated into rhythmical parameters, textures, group of notes and harmonic centres.
The chemical elements of the main minerals in the different categories of rock gave the base for the construction of the musical composition.
The piece was premiered in November Music 2017 by Ralph van Raat.
